HOPA Events

The Coin Race
Every child in both schools is asked to bring in coins. At the beginning of the day the children place their coins along a line drawn for their class on the playgrounds.
The children help to measure each line. The class at each school with the longest line wins a prize. The money is collected and counted by HOPA and used to boost our funds. Back to top
Summer Fair June 28th 2008

This is our main fundraising event of the year. This year the theme is The Olympics, with lots of sporty stalls and competitions.  We have bouncy castles, face painting, tombolas and hoopla, strongest parent competition plus some exciting new ideas. On the food front, we have the BBQ (with vegetarian option), the beer tent, refreshment tent with home made cakes, as well as hot and cold drinks.  Our special attraction in the main arena is a display from Woking Gym Club's Display Team, featuring several boys who have been named in the Great Britain squad!  Other fun activities will take place in the arena.

We are always in great need of support and sponsorship to make this event a success. If you feel you could help in anyway in the future (even for just 15 minutes)please contact us. You can reach the committee via this website, e-mail on hopahelp@yahoo.co.uk, in the playground or via either of the Schools' HOPA boxes.

Christmas Fair November 28 08

Our second biggest fundraiser of each year. We always enjoy the special attention of Santa Claus himself and have a purpose built ice grotto for the occasion. We also provide great refreshments including a BBQ (with vegetarian options), face painting, crafts for the children to do, tombolas and games and trader tables for a chance to shop early for Christmas.

Discos

Discos are held regularly at both the Hermitage and Oaktree Schools for the children. Free refreshments ( sugar free squash and plain(ish) biscuits) are included in the admission price. The children really enjoy these discos and at the Oaktree parental participation is encouraged. We always need helpers at both the Hermitage and Oaktree discos to supervise the children, and to serve refreshments. Let us know if you are available.

Check our calander for new disco dates.

Glo sticks available: Bracelets 30p, Necklaces 50p

HOPA 100 club

A monthly draw. Each line costs £1.00. You can pay for 12 months upfront, cash or cheque, or by monthly standing order. See the HOPA 100 page for previous winners, details of how to join and how the club has grown over the last year. Half of the money goes directly to HOPA funds, the other half is allocated as prizes. Approximately £500 is earned annually for HOPA by this club. Our ambition is to quadruple that! You can download a membership form and bank mandate from this site. Don't forget, the more people who enter the draw, the bigger the prizes!
